Gallery & Imports

monodit supports portable widgets and themes through import flows and built-in discover surfaces.

Importing widgets and themes

Anyone can import widgets and themes into a workspace.

Imports are a core part of how monodit stays flexible:

  • you can bring in externally shared assets
  • you can modify imported assets after installation
  • you can use imported assets as references or working drafts

Imported widgets and themes are editable. You can:

  • download them and edit the code directly
  • revise them with built-in LLM skills
  • pass them into dit as a draft or reference

Imported assets are packaged as markdown-based files that include both metadata and executable code.

Discover

The current gallery experience lives inside the main workspace UI rather than on a separate standalone gallery page.

You can browse gallery-style content from the Discover tabs in:

  • the widgets menu
  • the themes menu

These surfaces are the current entry points for finding content to install.

Updates

If an installed widget or theme has an available update, monodit can surface that update inside the widgets or theme menu and let you apply it directly from there.

Public submission is available for signed-in users with a Free or Pro account.

At a high level:

  • Guest users can import, but cannot submit
  • Free users can submit
  • Pro users can submit

Widgets and themes can both participate in these gallery-style flows.

Moderation

Submitted content may go through moderation before it becomes publicly available.

monodit may review, approve, reject, hide, or remove content for quality, safety, abuse, policy, or legal reasons.
